AT Academy Trainer (AT)

This certificate lasts one full week, typically running Monday through Friday. It represents the highest level of certification and expertise and guarantees superior knowledge. Participants are expected to complete reading assignments and will need to devote some time after the course hours to familiarize themselves with the concepts presented. The final exam is offered during the last training day. Participants successfully passing the exam receive a credential as proof of their level of expertise, qualifying them to instruct and administer the Semsphere Certification Program. 

Prerequisite Qualifications

Participants need to have successful completed the Semantic Technology Professional certificate.

Structure

Module 1: Advanced KR and Reasoning on the Semantic Web
The objective of this module is to introduce the concepts required to successfully apply advanced knowledge representation and reasoning on the Semantic Web. It offers a complete insight on reasoning covers topics such as temporal and spatial reasoning, approximate reasoning and distributed reasoning. It also extends the SPARQL concepts presented on the first module of the STS and offers an extensive understanding of customized topics geared towards specialization.


Module 2: Tools for Ontology Engineering 
This module provides a comprehensive overview of the various tools used in professional development environments for the conceptualization and modeling of ontologies. Tools covered include Prótége, WSMT and WSMO studio.

 

Module 3: Human Languages Technologies for the Semantic Web 
The objective of this module is to introduce human language technologies applied in the Semantic Web. It offers a complete insight on ontology learning, machine learning, information extraction and automatic meta-data generation.



Module 4: Semantic Collaboration Technologies 
This module presents advanced topics related to the application of semantic technologies to group work and collaboration. It covers advanced topics related to semantic Wikis, Linked data and semantic annotation and introduces the concepts and advantages offered by semantic blogs.

 

Module 5: Training and Certification Methodology 
The goal of this module is to provide academy trainers with the tool set required to effectively conduct trainings, while ensuring that students gain the level of excellence targeted by Semsphere. The goal is to understand and apply best practices while reflecting on the Semsphere culture and level of merit. Topics covered include industry practices, group leadership, didactic methodology and effective teaching.


The Academy Trainer certification examination is then offered after completing the five modules described above.
